Testing cue point drift with djay Pro

In this video I am testing the difference between using Phase, Serato control vinyl and the official control vinyl from djay Pro. The official djay pro vinyl was the clear winner. This test was done using djay pro on the Macbook Pro. Update Two days after I posted this video, the 5.2 update for djay Pro was released which included Phase HID support. Stay tuned for an updated test.
Harbinger S12 vs VS12. Are these the same speaker?
Переглядів 505Місяць тому
This video is a comparison of the Harbinger S12 and the VS12. To me, they seem like the same speaker. The specs are the same and there are only a few cosmetic differences along with a USB charging port. Try to find these when they are on sale during the holidays. I love the way mine sound when paired with the Mackie Thump Go. Just don't over pay for them. Wait for the holiday sales.
Denon LC6000 Should it stay or should it go?

I'm still up in the air about if I should keep this Denon LC6000. I don't really like the feel of the platter but it does have some nice features.

Apple Music with Djay Pro! Will Apple mess up your music files?
Hi where do I get the speaker top hat to mount the stand?
amzn.to/3YC8n9X
It's crazy SOOOOO many people are having issues! Mine crapped out on me during a wedding last October, which was kinda embarrassing. But like you, I don't wanna let it go. Mine is now stable for the most part - the left jogwheel 'slips' & the jogwheel displays freeze from time to time, but everything else works as expected.
Yeah, there seem to be a lot of people with these issues. I ended up returning it and now I have the Rev 5.
I'm trying this but it says the music is protected😢😢
Reloop has reached out to me and explained that this may be a hardware issue. If you are having issues with your Mixon 8 Pro, please create a helpdesk ticket here: reloop.com/support-ticket-request

Looks good man!! Love all your videos!!
Thanks!
i tried this way, but after you copied files in Serato Crates to USB , it'll automatically generate another duplicates in that crates, no ? so i have to rescan the crate and get rid of the duplicates after i ejected the usb
Love the rev 5...I have it as well
How are you liking the Rev5? I'm currently rocking the T7. I'm mostly liking it, but just can't get past the cheap feel and plasticky cue buttons
@@kevinsounds I’m loving it. I wish I got it a year ago. Works great with djayPro
I have the t7 also and couldnt agree more. Went ahead and got a dvs setup.
@@logisticalstyles glad to hear it's working for you for sure
@@atypical_blk_guy yeah bro like this was just such a let down. These cue pads belong on a $200 controller. Realistically the only thing that shines about this controller is the spinning platters. I would've rather paid an extra $300 for a better well put together unit
@@kevinsounds exactly. I like the platters but they aren't the best for beat juggling. I had a Rane One so I was already spoiled by direct drive.
Where would you buy the solar panels?
I would check Harbor Freight to see if they have some that would work.
woooooo that scratching omg !!!
Where can I get those 3d panels ?

Hey bud~ nice review! I see that you have two of these subs, do you think just one of these is enough for outdoor gigs? I already have 2 JBL EON612's for my speakers, and just want to add a sub.
I've done some events with just one sub but I really like having two.
Thanks for the review. I wish you had spent more time using the microphone without the music. Blessings in *Christ Jesus.*
I'm desperately trying to find out how to put my eq into stem separation mode (the reloop buddy controller did this out of the box)... have you figured out how to do it yet @Logistical Styles?
I don't have that controller any more but my current controller uses shifty + Cue buttons to activate EQ stems. I have the Pioneer Rev 5.
Do you sell them lol? I need one that will fit up to a 12.9 Ipad.
I actually have been selling them but not for the 12.9 iPad. I haven’t come across a ring light that can fit it.
Can u send link for the usb-c hub ?
This the one I currently use. amzn.to/3zZW6C9
@@logisticalstyles thanks
Lots of mobile friendly blends there.. for mobile djs. I used to be one.
I use Mac’s Music program but not the Apple subscription, I love the app but it’s never supported on my favorite controllers. I still use it for ceremonies and cocktail hour. Apple has discontinued the Vision Pro so who knows what will happen.
Vision Pro is cancelled?
I’m having the same issue
@@rodneycaldwell1310 contact Reloop and they should be able to help. They have confirmed that this is most likely a mechanical issue.
Can you use sync in Scratch Live?
I don't think Scratch Live has Sync. I believe it was introduced with Itch when Serato began supporting controllers.
@@logisticalstyles ahh ok, I just started using scratch live for the first time, I bought SL3 on FB for super cheap. I'm a little behind lol
Thanks for testing this - good to see there is no drift. I still get drift in HID mode on Serato when doing repitive cuts......
Wow. What a brilliant idea! Genius actually! Thanks for sharing!!
Has anyone an idea how to get a deleted history session back? Accidentally deleted the wrong history sessions
Do you have hiss issues since those are unbalanced cables? Have you ever run them more than 20 ft to your speakers?
No hiss issues but I usually connect to a mixer before going to the speakers. On the few times I connect direct to the speakers, I am not using long cables.
FInal Thoughts? Did you make a mistake?
I’m still not sure. Reloop wants to send me a unit that will be fully tested. I’m very interested to see how this works when it doesn’t have glitches.
This is Genius!
Thank you!
Great video bro! What kind of mic system do you use?
Rode Wireless Go II
Bought it for 86 today on Walmart but only the white one, while i was in my shopping cart to buy both they put up the price on the orange one to 129 . So i canceled it out of my cart
It will probably be cheaper for Prime Day on Amazon this week.
On;lay reason I disliked the video… is cuz I dislike what’s happening… the video is dope. I hope you figured this out! Shoot.
so no mixing? that probably makes sense
No mixing for a ceremony, but I could if I used th edjay pro app instead of just the Music app.
Very informative video. Can you please provide a detailed bill of material of all the items needed to build this photo booth. TY!

TY brother, much appreciated. Very gracious of you to share this valuable information
What was the app you are using?

How exactly did yoy manage to get phase to play with your iPad? I have a vague memry of messing around and figuring this out last week... now I can't make it happen! Help?
You have to use the RCA cables that come with Phase. Connect those to the mixer and also make sure the USB cable for Phase is connected as well. I connected it to the hub on the back of my Seventy but you can also connect it directly to the laptop.
@@logisticalstyles I think I dreamed up that there was a wireless mode for the iPad too. Just got Phase, still figuring it out! Thank you!
This is def a great setup for the price. Can't beat, I'm working on my first DIY booth but actually repurposing some older with new furniture. I really like the Laptop stand idea...
Thanks!
Thank you for the link. It looks like you set up the speaker behind the guests do you experience feedback with the lavalier or do you have a way to set the speaker to prevent that? Sometimes the bride and groom or the officiant are very soft-spoken and you have to turn the mic up causing feedback. Thank you for the video I, I looked everywhere to see if I could find a video with just the Lapel and body pack but couldn't fine one.
I used to have the same issues but now that I use two speakers at my ceremonies, I am able to spread the speakers out so that the sound is even and I don't have to crank the volume up so much. I am usually placed in the rear with my main sound but I will put a second speaker halfway between myself and the alter. The good thing about the Phenyx pro mics is the fact that you can mix and match them. I paired up two of the body packs to one receiver.
@@logisticalstyles That sounds great 2 body packs with one receiver is nice, how is the the connection? I have something similar but one day during a ceremony it kept cutting on and off and I noticed that the groomsman where blocking my line of site. I usually put the body pack inside my jacket I also noticed that it brings an angle connection I guess that will help raise the receiver.
@@logisticalstyles I have the JBL one, my wife did buy this PDP_1_1B for my birthday I tried it in more ways than one with my JBL and it just doesn't work. The feedback is way too much I am not sure if I am doing something wrong but the thing is that it looks well built I like that it has a button mute however it doesn't have a volume control I hope I find how to make it work.
You can remove from queue automatically under library in the settings mode
@@rong.lwilliams3944 yeah, it took me a while to figure that out. 👍🏾
are the simons for drums only? can you use it for dj.
@@StuartRauol you can use them to DJ with. They are the same exact sub.
The best Denon gear I ever got is the MC6000 (Traktor version). Built like a tank! I still have it. Denon has been very iffy in the Controller Market. Would be great if they put the same effort as they do with their mixers.
I absolutely love my sc live 4, comes out with me 9 times out of 10 over the xdj 1000 mk2’s
I am trying to figure out what you mean you can connect subs to the speakers they have a battery? Do your subs have a built in battery or are they able to use the thump go’s battery? Because I would like to get the thrash go and use subs with them
I use a power station like a jackery or bluetti to power the subs. The one I use is discontinued but I bought it from Walmart. The subs are connected either with wireless dmx adapters or just a regular DMX cable
@@logisticalstyles I thought about getting something like that for my mixer and decks I just know how many hours I could get out of one
😂 I’m sorry but in my RANE Rant I forgot to hold Algoriddim to the fire. This software seems to be so promising and could eventually give Serato and others a run for their money. But Algoriddim please listen to the entire music community as you develop and implement features within djay pro. We’re a community of djs, producers, musicians, developers etc. that are apart of the bigger community and foundation which is HipHop! Ordinary everyday people like myself and millions of others love the Art. But it’s “us” everyday people that consume the hardware and software that’s these big manufacturers market. So lend your ears to Logic and our community! Not just the dj’s you employ!
FINALLY FINALLY!!! I’ve said before and I’ll say it Again….. RANE should have you on their massive payroll list. Logic you are the only “1” that actually hears the complaints, confusion, misunderstanding and misinformation of those of us constantly trying to figure some of this RANE stuff out. I’ve asked RANE as well as you and many others to do more and better tutorials on their hardware. It’s only fallen on deaf ears and then you come along with a heart and passion for djing and great technical skills to try and make sense of it all… Thank You; RANE needs to take an in depth look at your channel and see how many times you’ve stepped outside of your busy schedule and commitments to bless our dj community with tips, knowledge, information, insights, tutorials and more. RANE; you guys need to appreciate and thank this brother for doing what you have failed to do and back it up by bringing him on to the RANE Team!!! Thank you Logic🙏🏿
Thanks for the kind words bro! I'm going to keep making videos!
I can't put Djay over VirtualDJ even tho the fluid bpms are amazing, but still hv some stuff to be desired. The integration on djay still has a way to go.. especially in the screen areas.
VDJ definitely has a better hardware integration than djay pro.
Good stuff, thanks for taking the time to make these videos.
This seems to be the only controller for djay that will use 4 channel mixing so sad
Good info on this device, stay up G !
Cut it up def !
Cool information homie, keep rockin' steady.
I like your skill set brother. There’s no other controllers that feel better than the Rane Twelve MK2’s for me. I keep trying others but end up saying these are my favorite. I guess that’s that old school coming up on Technics feel about them that does it for me.
I am just about to order a VS12 and I am in the same situation as you were. I have an S12 and yes the specs look the same except if you look at the manual of both near the end, the S12 lists the amp and speaker at 4 Ohm while the VS12 list them at 8 Ohms. I would be surprised Harbinger would have moved to a 8 Ohm amp/speaker, which my limited understanding would result in a more expensive setup except if there were reliability issues with the S12 setup. Maybe this is the reason for the price hike? I wrote to Harbinger customer support asking about this reported difference. I have had my S12 for a couple of years and don't use it often. It has been a good performer for small bar/outdoor shows.
I didn't notice that difference. I'll have to take another look at the manual. I've had great experiences with both speakers while DJing small events. You won't be disappointed with the VS12.
@@logisticalstyles Thanks. I did order a VS12.
